Some views are worth waiting for.
Day three in Yellowstone began before sunrise. We knew we had a long day ahead of us, but the otherworldly beauty of the park's early morning mist and sublime silence embraced us as we made our way south toward Old Faithful.
Grand Prismatic Spring would have to wait until later in the day.
And brother, was it worth the wait!
Traveling back along the Grand Loop Road, our anticipation grew with every mile. When we finally arrived, we wandered the boardwalks past brilliant turquoise pools before making the short hike to the overlook.
And then, there it was.
Spread out before us was a landscape almost impossible to believe—extraordinary colors, swirling textures, and a natural wonder unlike anything I'd ever seen.
Of all the photographs I made that day, there was no hesitation in choosing this one to share with you.
It spoke to me very clearly.
